Mrs. Scott was born April 16, 1928 in Simpson County, Mississippi to the late George Alvin Meadows and Missouri Eviline Robinson Meadows.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. She served many children as an elementary school teacher in various places, including Centreville, MS.
She never gave up on anyone. This attitude served her well as an elementary school teacher. She loved all of her students and strived to make them all succeed. She instilled this virtue in her family, and they grew up to have this same “can-do” mentality.
She had an aim in life to fix everything and everyone, which led her to become a collector of many things. Dolls and angels were among her favorite items, and she accumulated a large number of them over the years.
She loved to read. She was particularly fond of Billy Graham, and had a monthly subscription to the “Guideposts” magazine.
For entertainment, she enjoyed TV shows and movies, especially ones starring Dale Evans, Roy Rogers, and Shirley Temple. She also loved to go play Bingo. She was a champion player and earned several trophies.
She always held a special place in her heart for her family, who she loved dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: three daughters: Carolyn Scott (Frank Boozer) of Carrollton, Gloria Murray (Glynn) of Mississippi, and Opal Walston (Ricky) of Roopville; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ralph Scott; one daughter, Alvina Scott; one son, Richard Scott; and three brothers: Curtis, Homer, and Wendell Meadows.
